About The El Paso Diamondbacks

 

The El Paso Diamondbacks are an amateur men's baseball team in the all new Borderland Baseball League, as well as the El Paso College High School Seniors Open League.  We are about giving baseball players in the El Paso area an opportunity to sharpen their skills to advance to a higher level of play or just to keep playing for the love of the game.

Although no longer affiliated with AABC, we are similar to the Stan Musial/Connie Mack age divisions.

The Diamondbacks innaugural season was Summer 2013, making their first league playoff appearance in the Winter 2013 season.

Team owner and manager, Manny Garcia has been involved in the game of baseball since the age of 6 years old. Starting out in the YMCA youth league in El Paso, he continued playing through high school. Manny was a 2 year letterman at Gadsden High School (Anthony, NM) and a Walk On at UT El Paso in 1992.

Manny played organized amateur baseball from 1992-1997.

His only professional playing experience was in 2012 with the White Sands Pupfish of the Pecos League. He was released by the team, but still maintained contact with the team's General Manager and was a candidate for team Manager in 2014.

 

Team Colors: Vegas Gold, Black, White, and Red

 

So, you might  be asking why the team name and colors? Team owner, Manny Garcia is a fan of the MLB Arizona Diamondbacks and in the Winter 2014 season, he wanted to pay homage to the White Sands Pupfish by choosing to incorporate their team colors (Vegas Gold and Black)
